This is how it all began: Back in 1983, Hashim's „Al Naafiysh“ became one the defining electro classics, causing uncounted twisted ankles and dislocated shoulders amongst b-boys round the globe. 25 years later, 2 dope boys from Berlin – Marc Hype & Jim Dunloop – pay hommage to the classic with their seminal new-funk version ( available on their album „Stamp Out Reality“ and on the double a-side 12“ „Rare Occasion“). Due to the versatile qualities of the song, MPM announced a highly satisfying remix competition. Here we go with the 5 most outstanding contributions, covering all styles from 8-bit electro and house to dusty breaks and dubby basslines.
